Python Tutoring

I have been developing in Python as the main language I use for almost 10 years now, and I love it. I am willing to help you with your homework or studying for your CS classes, which includes helping you figure out why your code isn't working, giving advice on making your code better, or whatever you need related to Python.

I have experience using pure Python, Flask, and Django for web development, most popular libraries, and even some game frameworks. If you need help learning object oriented programming, list comprehension, or you want to learn the best way to find the information you need yourself, I can help you.

I own my own company, and I have experience helping teach people to code from those just learning to those that have graduated a CS Bachelor program.

Nobody is beyond needing help, even experienced programmers like me, so don't feel ashamed to ask for it. I would love to help.

Training & Qualifications

I have been programming in various languages over the period of nearly 40 years. I have been programming professionally for the largest part of 20 years. I have experience in Python, PHP, C, C++, C#, Go, Java, Javascript, and tons more I can't even remember. I consider myself an expert with Python, PHP, C++, Java, and Javascript. I have been in charge of keeping a team of programmers busy and knowledgeable for several years, which really means I'm just faster at learning new concepts than they are, but it still keeps me on my toes.

Availability & Preferences

I have a flexible schedule, so I can usually work at many times of the day.

Trading Preference: I’m flexible, just hit me up!

Reviews of Timm

Professional! Timm's incredibly knowledgable with Django development and a very pleasant guy to work with. He walked me through the steps necessary t...o implement an app in my site and took the time beforehand to learn the necessary material himself. Although it wasn't a very simple task for me, he sure made it seem easy by the time we finished. Thanks much, Timm.show more

I've always enjoyed helping other people, but without being able to reach out to lots of people, there are many skills I could help people with that go unused. I might be able to keep really busy ...

About Timm Simpkins

As a kid, I loved arcade games. When I was 7 years old, I found out that you could get this device called a computer, and you could program your own games. From that point on, I was hooked. I had t...o learn how to program video games. It took a few years, but finally I was able to get myself a very cheap computer. The Commodore VIC-20. I couldn't afford a tape drive, or even cartridges, but I would program terrible games in BASIC, and just never turn the computer off. Fast forward 33 years, and believe it or not, I never became a game developer, but I have continued to love programming just as much. I've been programming professionally for over 20 years, and I have learned dozens of languages. Programming isn't all I am though. I have a great love of learning new things. This started when I was younger than I have memory of. I used to tear apart my toys, and later everything from the toaster to the television, to find out how they worked, much to the chagrin of my mother. I read the entire set of World Book encyclopedias my family owned from cover to cover multiple times while I was a child. I spent almost every day at the library, researching everything I could. I learned about fixing hypnotism and parapsychology, and I longed to live in a haunted house. Then I learned about philosophy, and realized that hypnotism and parapsychology were most likely nonsense. I was and still am voracious about learning. Needless to say, there aren't many things I can't do, and I try to use that knowledge to help people with everything from the exciting to mundane. If I can learn from it, I'm likely going to be interested in it.show more
