Headband Cover Pattern & Directions
15
This is the tested pattern for both a 5/8" Headband Cover and a 1 & 5/8" Headband Cover with sewing instructions.
The inspiration for this project came while cleaning out my makeup table and finding I have less space than I thought, and that some of my valued accessories would have to go. How was I going to keep the diversity in color that I had with my hair accessories, while limiting the space they took up?
So I bounced around the idea of covering a headband different ways and found that pockets and tension are all I needed! These covers can be made in virtually any color, only limited by the fabric availability and your imagination.
After drafting, testing, redrafting and splicing the pattern apart and together again, I have the shape and designs down. This pattern was personally drafted for these items, as were the directions written as part of the creation process.
Training & Qualifications
I'm a professional tailor with 20+years of experience. I've done everything from quilting to upholstery, though I'm not very practiced at the later. I love quilting, embroidery, tailoring, and bridal as far as sewing. I also do bead-work, cross-titch, hair-sticks, a tiny bit of origami. But I cannot knit/crochet. Something about taking a 2D line and making it into a 3D object that cannot be altered by a sewing machine makes my mind a little confused.
I'm a gamer as well, and by that I mean my roots are in LARPs and tabletop games. The Dragon Age games have captivated my attention and I'm an avid player on my PS3/4.
