Brazilians eat rice and beans with almost every lunch and dinner. The staples of Brazilian cuisine are rice, beans, and farofa, which is a manioc-flour based dish. Most people will eat these as side dishes and have a meat or fish main dish. Brazilian rice is made with long grain white rice, and is much different from the Asian varieties. When Brazilians cook rice, the goal is to have nice individual grains that don't stick together. "Arroz soltinho" is what we call the perfect Brazilian rice dish.
Training & Qualifications
I was born and raised in Brazil and left when I was 15 years old. I grew up eating Brazilian rice, and I frequently make it for my family. I love the process and would love to share my enthusiasm for the dish with my fellow Simbians.
